Cirencester Bowls Club

Our address is:- Cirencester Bowling Club, Brewery Car Park, Ashcroft Road, Cirencester, GL7 1QX. tel No:- 01285 654150 (see Location page for details of how to find us)

The Club was founded in 1930. The Club House and Green have been progressively improved over the years, largely through the efforts of the Club Members. The ground is owned by the Club, but we have to use the Council’s public Car Park. Since 1935 the Club has been open to men and women bowlers and there is an extensive programme of Men’s, Ladies and Mixed friendly matches against other Clubs, as well as many Club competitions. The Club enters teams in several National and Gloucestershire County Competitions and Leagues. On Thursday evenings, members can enjoy social “roll ups” as well as playing in the Club Triples competition.  There is also a club roll-up on Friday afternoons.

We are one of the larger Clubs in Gloucestershire with a current Playing membership of 49 Men and 34 Ladies, together with a further 72 Social (non-playing) members (2019 figures).  In addition to the summer outdoor bowls season we have a thriving indoor bowls section which meets in the Club House most mornings, afternoons and evenings during the Winter months. Some 76 members play indoors (59 of which also play outdoors), taking part in league competitions.

New members are always welcome and we offer a comprehensive programme of coaching for both new bowlers and those who wish to brush up their skills. We currently have a number of temporary members undergoing coaching.

Roll-Up Times: April - May from 1pm; June - September from 11am - Dress Casual (no Jeans or Combats)
